IMAGE MAKING PROJECT2 INTRO
For project 2 in image making, Tyler wants us to create a strictly photographic poster, containing the identity for a famous non-fictional person who died before 1984. The poster will be 24×36″ and is similar to those seen hanging in front of a museum to advertise a specific show. The poster needs to represent the person using at least 3 elements of index and symbol. These are terms we’ve explored in the previous project.
Here is the project overview
For my person I am going to explore the filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock. Alfred Hitchcock died in 1980 after directing and producing a number of iconic “suspense thrillers” in his time.
Rear Window
Verigo
North by Northwest
Pyscho
The Birds
-Some of his most famous films.
His strange personality is often reflected in his films. And are often seen as dark, scary, and enigmatic.
Possible imagery could include, a knife, blood, bird tracks, warped perspective, tunnel vision, film.
I also feel the 40′s and 50′s films have a certain feel therefore it could be interesting to shoot with black and white film… and translate it into digital format.
